But he said he was working on RedHat Linux, which works beautifully
and passes all tests. Tim, can you provide some more detail about the
exact problems that you have met?

That should be easy, I have tagged the tree just before installing the
automake/libtool patches.

Back, and willing to get all this stuff working on FreeBSD ASAP :-)
I was able to get partial success with static libraries, but the
lt_dlpreopen_default breakage has prevented further progress until I
had to leave on Thursday. Hopefully it will start working again soon.
Then, I'll look into shared libraries. I don't understand why libtool
doesn't work as Kaffe originally did, since it appears to compile and
link everything exactly as Kaffe originally did on FreeBSD... :-(
