Nope. My point is that I have been able to start from scratch and
create a Makefile structure that was equivalent to the complex one we
had in only a few weeks. That's an accomplishment that can't be
ignored. That's something that makes me not even consider not using
automake when I start a new project. And if I plan on creating
libraries, I'll certainly use libtool. That's the value of these
meta-tools, that you haven't been able to enjoy because you have only
seen the bad side of them, because they caused a working environment
to stop working for a while. But think of building up such an
environment from scratch!
