That was an oversight. I just didn't notice, when I was porting Kaffe
to libltdl, that, although libltdl supports dlopening non-libtool
libraries, Kaffe wouldn't automagically do that :-(
It should be easy to reintroduce, as soon as I remember which file
contained the list of per-platform library extensions. Unless we'd
want libltdl to do that, which would be quite easy, and would
contribute to platform independence of Kaffe.

It was not me who invented, and I'm not trying to force anybody to
accept it; it was an oversight. Please don't take stupidity as
malice.
