Essentially all versions of FreeBSD need the -lgcc hack, since it
was only fixed a month ago or so (after 2.2.8 and 3.0 were released).
When FreeBSD 3.1 is released (soon) then we can detect versions >=
3.1 and not install the hack in that case. But FreeBSD 3.0 and 2.x
all need it.
