IMHO, communication protocols such as HTTP and FTP are best left
outside the scope of libxml. I agree that it is a good thing to
have nanohttp and nanoftp present to play around with or for
simple solutions, but for full-fledged communication with
authentication, encryption, and similar I use a dedicated library
(in my case libcurl, http://curl.haxx.se/). I like the clean
separation between the two: libcurl takes care of everything
related to the communication protocol and doesn't care about
the content, and vice versa with libxml.
Again, this is just IMHO.
