Looks suspiciously like the libxml bug #2784 I fixed some time ago:
http://bugs.gnome.org/db/27/2784.html
If you're still using libxml-1.7.3, try to upgrade to libxml-1.7.4
(or the latest from CVS) and check if this fix things, if not I will
chase and fix the bug :-)
