XPath became a W3C Recommendation in November 99
- XPath design was done in cooperation with the XSL WG
- Reusable layer for XPointer and XSLT
- There is a number of implementations available (mostly for XSLT)
- XSL and XML Query WGs are interested in continuing work on XSLT
